Rainbow
Family Gathering 2009 Continued: 1 |
Once we got
to Kiddie village, I realized that I was home
once again.
I got to see many familiar faces. I didn't see
everyone that I wanted to.
I guess that I will see those people sometime
again. At another Rainbow Gathering, perhaps.
As always we
were greeted with hugs from those who are close
to us. |
| The first
thing that needed to be done after a short rest,
after that long haul in, was to scout a camp
site.
I looked just a little ways into the distance. I
noticed that there were lots of tents set up
near the outskirts of kid village. So as I was
standing on the hill looking out, I felt a good
vibe.
I seen a peaceful looking sister with her young
daughter and dog.
I felt a nice vibe. I wondered to myself this
Pit-bull must be so friendly, to be close to
this little child. I inquired as to camping
inside of her little group.
She said that would be fine. Her name was Jamie
from Jersey, daughter Ivy and the dog named
"Pig". Jamie came with her friend Nicolle, who
had two children. Arrow and Ire. Nicolle was
camping directly in front of Jamie's tent. Our
tent was then settled in between these two
peaceful hippie chicks tents.
Once settled in the next thing we wanted to do
is check out
the lay of the land. |
| After settling in to our site in Kid
Village, We took a small walk around the general
area to see the lay of the land. Kid Village was rather close to the main
meadow this year.
There were peaceful hippies everywhere. |
| The info booth was setup as normal right
there in main meadow. |
There is a board where people can post
events and happenings that will be going on at
the Gathering.
I wanted to do many things that were posted,
such as the herb walks and the such. I didn't
get around to doing any of those things this
year but will make it a priority at next years
2010 Rainbow Gathering. |
Each evening a huge circle of people will
form in the middle of the main meadow. Hippies
from all the kitchens and camps at the Rainbow
Gathering gather together to eat diner.
There were peaceful hippies everywhere. It
seemed as though everyone was doing there own
thing. Some of the hippie chicks were twirling
there hula hoops, some of the hippies were
beating on there drums in the drum circle. Some
of the hippies were spinning there fire.
